Steve came in as an equal business partner, having been active in the previous version of this venue, Steve saw the potential of the restaurant and terrace, located inside an historical hotel and knew that Hörnet was a business to be involved in. Compromising of a restaurant and large terrace serving the townsfolk of Nauvo. With Hörnet being a summer seasonal venue the appetite for success is huge.

Steve came on board as a partner but also with a remit to devise a menu that suited the venue but also gave something to the people of Karjaa that they didn’t currently have access to. Having just competed and finishing 3rd in the Finnish Burger Battle, it was decided that this was the route to take. Steve set up the kitchen and trained the staff to be able to output the tastiest burgers in Karjaa. Steve is a solid member of the ownership team and his input is greatly appreciated

Steve joined us in our first season of running the Marina and has returned every year in a supervisor capacity.
In 2021 he worked weeks before the official opening to create a menu that would blow other marinas away.
Not only did he have to put a lot of his familiar practices aside but also needed to research what boat goers and harbour visitors wanted.
Our menu was compiled of common Finnish dishes but also some favourites that we, the owners, wanted to see on the menu.
Steve had an inexperienced team and needed to mould them into a team that was able to work together to consistently deliver what we had plated weeks before opening! Steve worked on site 75% of the time, where supervision was needed and remained within earshot whilst away, yet always available.
He continued to maintain orders, hygiene and support for staff and worked remotely to uphold the standards that were set and required in our restaurant. Steve comes highly recommended and will always have a place in any of my establishments.
